Google announced the network in 2010, saying that the service would be priced competitively with other ISPs. The service will reach Kansas City area homes and institutions and, eventually, businesses.
Cloud services are trending worldwide, with hundreds of tweets per minute at the #cloud tag. But as acknowledged by technology trendwatcher TechCrunch, “what really makes Paruzia different is that it gives 5 percent of revenues or 20 percent of profit (whichever is greater) to ending modern-day slavery and sexual exploitation of women and children by partnering with a Kansas City-based anti-trafficking organization called Exodus Cry.”
Jason Arnold, Director of Business Development, says that “one of the of the unacceptable results of a globally connected economy is an increase in the demand for sex workers. Violence towards and the exploitation of women and children is an epidemic. The Internet contributes to this demand around the world. In contrast, Paruzia sees the Internet as a good and useful tool...after all, we are a cloud computing company. That is why we support anti-trafficking efforts.”
David Eck, the co-founder, told the crowd that his time with the early Microsoft Managed Services initiative is what inspired him to start a new cloud computing business. “This isn't widely known, but Microsoft cloud services had one client back then--Energizer Holdings, based in St. Louis. But seeing how much more smoothly smaller companies can move to the cloud is what inspired me to do the early R&D for Paruzia.”
Paruzia will provide services for firms measuring 100 employees and smaller. Cloud computing is seeing a renaissance among all industry verticals, thanks to its promise of lower costs, industry standardization, increased mobility, and improved data protection.
Furthermore, to celebrate the awarding of this prize, Paruzia founder, David Eck, has agreed to provide the first ten small businesses who contact them a complimentary technical analysis of their systems -- and provide them with actionable steps by which they can speed workflow, cut capital and monthly costs, and secure their businesses against disasters and capital failure.
The Paruzia team is led by David Eck, a former Microsoft Manager and Senior Network Engineer currently living in the South Kansas City area. They can be reached at (855) 80-CLOUD for questions, and to set up the complimentary technical analysis service.
