But, as the economy quickly soured in 2008, Neeley decided to put to use his experience as a self-help bankruptcy course instructor during law school. At the time, he intended to do a few bankruptcy cases each month, while still running his software development company. However, after creating a bankruptcy website, and beginning to take calls from potential clients, it quickly became clear that such a plan would not be possible – there was more demand for client-service oriented and affordable bankruptcy attorneys in Phoenix than could be met on a part-time basis. “I had a completely different approach to taking care of my clients than many other law firms out there – I actually listened to my clients’ concerns and then found the best solution for them, not for my bottom line,” Neeley said.
Neeley sold his interest in this software development company and opened an office in Chandler, Arizona to start offering debt-related legal representation to clients across Arizona. According to Neeley, his firm can file bankruptcy, negotiate settlements directly with creditors to help clients avoid bankruptcy, and work with the IRS to manage or reduce tax debt.
“Now I have two incredible associate attorneys, three amazing paralegals, an unbelievably friendly receptionist, and a super administrative assistant,” Neeley said. With the support of that experienced staff, the Neeley Law Firm filed its 1,000 case on January 19, 2012. The Neeley Law Firm is now regarded as one of the top service-oriented consumer bankruptcy and debt protection law firms in Arizona. Neeley concluded, “One thing I’ve learned from these 1,000 cases is that no two cases are the same. We’ll continue to listen to our clients and compassionately address their specific worries, goals, and situations.”
