Jan. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- PONTIAC, Mich., – Grace Centers of Hope will host a grand opening celebration of its Moreland House on Saturday, Jan. 28, with an open house from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and a dedication ceremony at 11 a.m.  The house, which is located at 20 Moreland Avenue in Pontiac, will shelter women who have graduated from the Grace Centers of Hope One Year Life Skills Program and are moving to the nonprofit’s After Care Program.

“We are truly thankful for all of our ‘Reach for Grace’ volunteers and everyone else who helped make the Moreland House possible,” said Pastor Kent Clark, CEO of Grace Centers of Hope.  “This fully furnished and comforting house will certainly provide a great opportunity for our graduates to get back on their feet as they continue to search for full-time employment and work to maintain productive lives.”

The Moreland House was a vacated property just one year ago when it was purchased by Grace Centers of Hope, which began renovations on the interior of the building in mid-November.  Volunteers and local community members donated items to help completely furnish the house for residents.  The house consists of four bedrooms for program graduates and includes space for one staff member who will live at the house and work full-time.

The property is part of “Little Grace Village,” a neighborhood revitalization effort by Grace Centers of Hope that offers safe and affordable housing to graduates of the One Year Life Skills Program.  Little Grace Village is located off N. Perry St. in Pontiac and consists of 13 single and multi-family homes.  For more information on the Moreland House and Little Grace Village, contact Grace Centers of Hope at 1-855-HELP-GCH or visit www.gracecentersofhope.org.
