AEB Conference on Import, Export & Customs Compliance helps companies improve quality, reduce costs

A conference hosted by AEB (International) Ltd will outline how supply chain executives can reduce costs without cutting down on quality, all while remaining compliant with customs and global trade regulations.

Jan. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- For supply chain executives, the continued uncertainty about the global economy means they have to focus on reducing costs without cutting down on quality. A conference hosted by AEB (International) Ltd will outline how they can achieve this, e.g. by taking advantage of simplified customs procedures, preferential benefits, automated customs procedures, EDI networks or implementing bonded warehouses – all while remaining compliant  with customs and global trade regulations.

Organised in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILTUK), the conference “Import, Export and Customs Compliance - Improve Quality, Reduce Costs” will introduce current customs and global trade regulations, the risks associated with non-compliance, as well as trends, challenges and solutions. Case studies will explain the benefits of customs compliance programmes to streamline business processes, improve service levels and distribution efficiency and deliver cost savings in key areas of the supply chain. The following presentations have been confirmed:

•   Customs Management - Common Pitfalls and Recommendations
Anthony Griffiths, Partner, Strong & Herd Import Export Services

•   Customs Compliance - Procedures and Best Practices
Richard Bright, International Trade Development Liaison Officer, HMRC

•   Case study: Implementing a Bonded Warehouse
Bernd Stadtler, Head of Customs, Hugo Boss

•   Customs Management Business Challenges and Solutions
Peter Skov, IT Solution Design Consultant, CEVA Logistics

•   The Role of Software in Global Customs Management
Mark Brannan, International Business Development Manager, AEB (International) Ltd

Phil Lavin, Sales Manager at AEB (International) Ltd, said: “Many logistics professionals still consider customs and foreign trade regulations a necessary burden rather than an opportunity to save costs and streamline processes. But customs experts agree that companies that manage global trade and customs rules to their advantage and integrate them into their overall strategy are more competitive. By achieving faster border clearance and smooth import and export handling they ensure that goods are available on time, delivery promises are kept and - most importantly - a happy customer receives the product as ordered.”

The conference will take place on Wednesday, 28th March 2012, from 10am to 3.45pm at the Barceló Walton Hall Hotel, Wellesbourne, Warwickshire, CV35 9HU. Beverages, snacks and a complimentary lunch will be provided. Attendance is free for CILT members. Non-members will be charged a £20 administration fee.
