Sedaka Show with Singer/Songwriter Jim Van Slyke March 2 at BIG ARTS Sanibel

Jan. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Critically-acclaimed and award-winning singer/songwriter Jim Van Slyke brings his massively popular Sedaka Show to BIG ARTS Friday, March 2, at 8 p.m. in Schein Performance Hall, 900 Dunlop Road. Tickets are General Admission $42, Loge $47 and Child 17 & Under $15.
   Van Slyke has headlined concert stages around the globe with The Sedaka Show. Neil Sedaka himself has not only joined Van Slyke on stage for a duet during performances in Hollywood, San Francisco and New York City, but has also highly endorsed the tribute. After seeing the show, Sedaka gushed, “I had the great pleasure of seeing Jim Van Slyke perform a revue of my songs. It blew me away! The voice, the stage presence, the thought and preparation that went into the show were all superb. I’ve seen many singers over the years do my songs, but nobody has moved me more than Jim.    Van Slyke ranks performing with Sedaka and receiving Sedaka’s personal endorsement one of his career highlights, along with his solo performance at The White House, and being a featured entertainer for President Clinton’s second Inaugural Ball.
   In 2006, Van Slyke received a prestigious ASCAP Songwriters’ Award for the self-penned title track off his stunning debut album, Open Road. His second release, 2011’s The Sedaka Sessions, is a compilation of songs recorded during Sedaka Show performances. It is available for purchase online through major music retailers.
