Jan. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Just like humans, sharks can go through the trials and tribulations of life, happiness and sadness too…and more so being an outcast-handicapped without teeth. Gums (a juvenile shark) is shy…timid…lovable…and has a heart warming smile which becomes his great asset that helps him and also hurts him. His mother and sister love and accept him for what he is but his big tough father shark has a hard time accepting his son as a weed eater…not a fish eater. In one afternoon tragic events changed Gums life into sadness…abuse and loss of love and home. A small striped fish with a tough sounding voice named "Sarg" , became Gums life long friend. "A friend in need…is a friend indeed." Sarg helped Gums to find courage, which led to the happiness of many sea creatures.

We all know that there were times in our lives when we were down and out…depressed and no where to turn, and ("a friend in need…is a friend indeed,") a friend came into our lives and gave us a little push from behind and off we went with a little strength and courage. The author wanted the readers to personally feel the same emotions that Gums felt and when the end of the story came, the reader felt like Rocky Balboa running up those concrete steps to the top. Hopefully the readers would just one time in their lives…be a…"Gums the Toothless Shark."
