He said he the collaborative venture organised by the three North West universities was to be applauded and would further help to foster the spirit and growth of enterprise, which is so essential to the future prosperity of the country.
“I was pleased to hear of the launch,” said the Lib Dem MP. “The experience of enterprise in education is key to improving levels of enterprise ambition and helps give people the knowledge and awareness of what it means to run a business and the skills they will need in order to pursue new opportunities.
“That is why the Government is encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset and promoting activities in universities through its support for student enterprise societies.”
Unfortunately, the Minister’s heavy diary commitments meant he would be unable to attend the event which takes place next Monday at the University of Salford at Media City.
Manchester Business School Enterprise Lecturer Jonathan Styles, one of the team of academics who have organised the event said: “We are disappointed that Mr Cable can’t join us but we are looking forward to an event which will hopefully inspire those post graduate students who attend.”
