Wales based IT solutions specialists Zipporah secure international contracts to beat recession....

Jan. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Welsh company Zipporah Limited, specialists in online booking solutions for Local Authorities, have won two international contracts to provide online booking systems for councils in Ireland and Australia following their determined decision to face the recession head on and take advantage of the opportunities it presented to them. As well as the international market their focus has been on improving services to existing customers which has resulted in an almost 30% increase in turnover in this financial year when many companies have experienced a decline in their fortunes.

Director Scott Burton said ‘we made a decision that we could either become inward looking like many other businesses during the recession or we could pursue the ambitious targets we set ourselves of securing international success.  We decided on the latter and it’s paid off for us’. Their plan was to target Ireland as the nearest international destination and Australia as the furthest and both have come good.

Both contracts were awarded after months of dedicated hard work by the directors and team at Zipporah who strongly believe this is the way businesses succeed and grow in tough times.

The contract in Ireland is with the Civil Registration Service to deliver an online booking system for the whole of Ireland for marriages and civil partnerships. Zipporah was appointed ahead of other UK and international rival contenders because of its strong reputation for providing excellent online booking services for Registrars throughout England and Wales and its extensive knowledge of Registration processes. Scott Burton, Director, believes the project was won on the basis of Zipporah having a solution that no-one else could provide focusing on flexibility and simple but effective functionality allowing staff and citizens to use the same process.

Zipporah has actively pursued business in Australia for 4 years, gradually making contacts with the help of the Welsh Government leading to invitations to speak at conferences and meetings with individual councils. Zipporah’s hard work paid off when it was awarded a contract with a council north of Sydney – a contract the council had been about to close as they couldn’t find a suitable solution till Zipporah came along. Zipporah’s system with its open integration and one system providing for many requirements proved to be just what they needed and will lead to other opportunities.

Success in Australia has opened up the international market for Zipporah and it has its eye on other Commonwealth countries including New Zealand, South Africa and Canada. Not content with their current wins they continue their ambitious targets aiming to secure a total of 10 international contracts by the end of 2012.
