Husband/Wife Designer Team Blacks Out Sites In Protest Of SOPA

Jan. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Rick London and Lee Hiller-London are a married couple living in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas.  They love their life and their work. Much of it is on the Internet.

    SOPA is the federal government bill allegedly against piracy, but, according to cartoonist/designer Rick London is will do anything but stop piracy.

    "It actually gives the Judicial Department rights to your privacy, which of course is Unconstitutional", says cartoonist/designer Rick London.

     London is no stranger to piracy as he's had to fight it many times over the past 15 year with his Londons Times Cartoons images. LondonsTimes dot us  They have been Google's #1 ranked offbeat cartoons since 2005. He also designs products with an inventory of over 1/4 million of them.  His website has 5000+ original cartoons which has attracted 8.8 million visitors since he put up a counter in January of 2005.  He launched the project in 1007.

     His wife Lee Hiller-London has also blacked out her site for January 18th.  She is known to be one of the most prolific nature photographers and designers in the state of Arkansas.  Both are authors with books on Amazon.com and Barnes & Nobles.

    Hiller-London says, "The Internet is one of the last places where in the US where we can freely exchange ideas without threat of governmental interference.  As a Photographer/Designer I want to make it clear that all sites are at risk of being blocked if SOPA passes.  If you link to a favorite website and it is penalized by being blocked because you linked to it your site would be blocked as well.  The threat of Censorship will destroy the free flow of thoughts, art, commerce and education.  The blackout is a silent protest to protect of free and fair use of the Internet."  LeeHiller dot com

      London says, "America has fought some horrendous wars over the past decade under the auspices of sharing Democracy or "A government of the people by the people".  SOPA of course, takes all that away.  It's a bit hypocritical even being in those countries if we can't get our own shortcomings in order.  A bill like that shouldn't even exist.
