Rosendin Electric Begins Construction of Martin Luther King Junior High School in Pittsburgh

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 17, 2012 - PITTSBURGH, Calif. -- Rosendin Electric (http://www.rosendin.com), one of the nation’s largest private electrical contractors and a 100% employee-owned company, today announced the start of construction on the new Martin Luther King Junior High School.

The new Pittsburgh Unified School District middle school is being built by Webcor Builders and Rosendin Electric holds the $3.3 million design-build electrical contract, which includes telecommunications, audio-visual wiring, fire alarm, and the infrastructure for a later photovoltaic installation. The new Martin Luther King Junior High School project also includes construction of an 87,000-square-foot building accommodating 32 classrooms, 5,000 square feet of administrative offices, a 7,000-square-foot cafeteria, a 5,000-square-foot library, a gymnasium/common room with 12,000 square feet, and playfields. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion in August 2012.

Included in the project specifications are the latest audio-visual and lighting features, including state-of-the-art smart controls for each classroom that are linked to the AV system to automatically dim the lights when necessary, or automatically lower audio volume to accommodate public announcements. The contract also calls for wiring the entire school for data access.
