Jan. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Potential serious harm & even death must be assessed early on in any therapist/client relationship in light of recent research by David Adams & Jacquelyn C. Campbell, PhD, RN both of whom have demonstrated that femicide, the murder of an intimate female partner, occurs in some cases within months or even weeks of a romantic relationship's start.

The collaboration of Human Resource Essential, LLC and The DVU expects to address that via convenient, on-demand webinars.  The specific goal is to educate counselors & interested persons about domestic abuse dynamics so that proper assessments and interventions are designed.

One of the webinars already available on the online portal www.theDVU.com is The Assessment of Domestic Abuser Lethality.

The new research by David Adams will be presented along with that Dr. Robert D. Hare's work on psychopathy.  Webinar attendees will be able to use this knowledge to assist their clients in responding to early warning signs of harm & will have gained a familiarity with three authors in the field that might further their own ongoing edification.

As an added benefit, these programs have been approved for 1.0 Continuing Education Units (CEU) by Aurora Behavior Health System. So while a mental health professional can view the webinars at their 24/7 convenience, they will also obtain ever desirable and elusive educational units and CEUs for domestic violence.

“This webinar presents an excellent exploration of domestic abuser lethality via delineating behaviors, historical personality characteristics and expectations for the possibility for treatment.  Through the research presented Carl shows the importance of recognizing the multiple layers needed to do an effective assessment.” Says Jan Singer, MSW.
