Parkside Press Launches Middle-Grade Anti-Bullying Series with The Galactic Adventures of Jaedyn G.

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 18, 2012 - Parkside Press has announced the release of THE GALACTIC ADVENTURES OF JAEDYN G., a middle-grade novel that follows a young superhero’s journey from school to space.  It is the first in a series.

THE GALACTIC ADVENTURES OF JAEDYN G. features a strong female African-American protagonist as she helps a space alien named Zel defeat an evil bully on Planet Bob.  Throughout her journey, which includes a dazzling shopping trip, action-packed wrestling tournament and an ongoing riff with fellow classmate Darlene, Jaedyn learns that superpowers can come in all forms.

With so few middle-grade or young adult novels featuring lead African-American characters, author Andre Gaines considers THE GALACTIC ADVENTURES OF JAEDYN G. a unique book in its category.  His niece inspired the title character.  “The book is a fast-paced, fun adventure for kids everywhere, with the title character especially geared towards young African-American readers,” Gaines said.
