Jan. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Gayle Sulik will be a featured guest on Ageless Radio's January 21st show.  Sulik is author of Pink Ribbon Blues, a highly researched book that exposes the short-comings of  pink ribbon marketing in advancing the cause for a breast cancer cure. The New York Times, in reviewing the book, wrote that the book “treads an interesting middle ground between the academic and the journalistic as she analyzes giant hunks of information and opinion, and also interviews patients to illustrate her points."  Dr. Sulik, Ph.D., is a social science researcher and writer, and a 2008 Fellow of the National Endowment for the Humanities for her work in the medical humanities. Regularly interviewed in a variety of newspapers and magazines from USA Today to Marie Claire, Dr. Sulik has been a guest on NPR’s “The Kojo Nnamdi Show,” Oprah Radio’s “The Dr. Laura Berman Show,” “Second Opinion Live” on Reach MD, “Back Again with Keith & Jocelyn” on WYBCX, “The Stupid Cancer Show,” and others.  Find Dr. Sulik at gaylesulik.com and onTwitter at @pinkribbonblues. The book is available on Amazon.com.

Is it natural for the senior brain to slow down? Dr. Roger Ratcliff and Dr. Gail McKoon are psychologists and researchers at Ohio State University with expertise in senior cognitive skills. They will explain research that shows seniors often trade-off speed for accuracy in decision-making and other critical responses. Dr. Ratcliff earned a PhD at University of Auckland, New Zealand.  Dr. McKoon is a graduate of University of Colorado. Both previously taught at Dartmouth, Yale, and Northwestern Universities and are recipients of numerous awards for research.

Dana Skiljan is a partner in Liberty Tax in the Savannah, Ga area. Skiljan will give advice on the deductibility of mileage used for charitable volunteering and on the rules regarding taxability of Social Security.

Dr. Felicia Carr, MD is a family practitioner who will speak about osteoporosis, which affects 10 million adults and another 18 million suffer from low bone mass. One in two women and one in eight men over 50 will have an osteoporosis-related fracture in their lifetimes.  While estimates vary, the cost of hip fractures alone due to osteoporosis exceeds $15 billion/year in the US.  Dr. Carr is a graduate of Wake Forest University Medical School and is in private practice at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA.
