Pathfinder Outdoor Adventure Education Announces An Innovation In Summer Camps

Jan. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- What better way for kids to spend time outdoors and have the time of their lives than at one of Pathfinder Outdoor Education’s Summer Adventure camps? And now, with week-long and weekend overnight camps being offered, there are more choices. With activities like zip lining, archery, canoeing, night hikes and, of course, our signature tree climbing, there are plenty of ways to make a lasting memory at our camps.

“We really wanted to be aggressive this year in offering a wide variety of adventures for a larger number of youth than in previous years. This year’s schedule is by far the boldest we’ve put together incorporating a combination of weekend and week-long camps. We have every confidence we will make a real difference in a number of lives this year,” explains Tony Ceresoli, Sr.—Executive Director, Pathfinder Outdoor Education.

Safety is Pathfinder’s top concern. Pathfinder is still the first and only organization in Florida accredited by the Association for Experiential Education (www.aee.org). We are one of 13 accredited wilderness adventure programs in the country. Pathfinder’s facilitators are career educators—not college students. They are extensively trained to create the safest possible environment, both physically and emotionally, during all activities.

“The Pathfinder experience is hands-down the safest outdoor adventure program offered in our state,” says Michelle Flint, Assistant Director at Pathfinder Outdoor Education, “We pride ourselves in our safety and preparation and train the best facilitators in the industry.”

Pathfinder has six sessions of its overnight camps scheduled at two locations this year: Cedarkirk Camp in the Tampa area will host our weekend camp sessions and DaySpring Camp in the Sarasota/Bradenton area with host our week-long camp sessions.

Pathfinder Outdoor Education is a not-for-profit corporation founded in 1993 to deliver fun, challenging adventures that help people learn about themselves, others and the environment.
