fluid Operations Releases Information Workbench 2.2

WALLDORF – fluid Operations™, the leading provider of innovative cloud and data management solutions based on semantic technologies, releases the Information WorkbenchTM 2.2.

Jan. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- The Information Workbench is a web-based platform for the development of Linked Data solutions in the enterprise. The new version allows users to simultaneously access multiple data sources over a federation. Other new features include access control lists and wizards which simplify the solution implementation and the process for customizing the user interface, as well as an integrated Wiki Markup editor, which increases usability.

The Information Workbench 2.2 fulfills the growing requirements of today's business world, where large and virtual teams need to work together quickly and effectively on multiple projects and across multiple locations, and therefore need both company-internal and external business information.

Flexible Knowledge Management in the Enterprise

The Information Workbench 2.2 allows users to simultaneously access multiple data sources over a federation. Data sources can thus be integrated as a service. This is made possible by the integration of SPARQL 1.1. Federation Extensions, a new standard of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) for the processing of distributed semantic data. The SPARQL 1.1. Federation Extensions had already been integrated before in FedX, an open source software from fluid Operations for transparent access to data sources over a federation.

Secure Knowledge Management in the Enterprise

Integrated access control lists allow administrators and developers to define exactly which action a user is allowed or not allowed to perform. These lists support them to manage the access to data stored in the Information Workbench and to solution functionalities. Access control lists are finely adjustable so that multiple users or groups can have different access rights.
Increased Usability

New wizards and an integrated Wiki Markup editor now increase the usability of the Information Workbench. The Wiki Markup editor provides many formatting options and facilitates the editing of wiki pages. This includes, for example, the ability to insert widgets, links, comments or pictures into a wiki page. Widgets and data providers can now easily be added, configured, modified or deleted using wizards. Furthermore the Information Workbench provides new templates that simplify data entry.
