Net2Vault Announces Record 3 Hour Cloud Test Recovery for NetApp User

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 17, 2012 - Net2Vault, a leader in the enterprise cloud backup and disaster recovery market, announced today the successful completion of a test for its NetApp client at a SunGard Availability Services’ data center in Scottsdale, Arizona. The test, a recovery of cloud backup data, was completed in less than 3 hours, improving the previous test recovery record by more than 20 hours. The customer, a multi-national oil company, performed the test adhering to regulatory standards. The disaster recovery test was performed with client data vaulted in its entirety to Net2Vault's remote NetApp storage systems at SunGard’s data center that undergoes an SSAE 16 audit annually.

The client’s data consisted of more than 46 VM and was operational from bare metal within the 3 hour time period. The Net2Vault client was able to log on to the Scottsdale servers and establish connection to their vaulted backup data in record time. “We have demonstrated consistent recovery of a client’s operating environment in record time”, said Brian Linse, CEO of Net2Vault. The purpose of the test was to perform a recovery as would occur in the event of an actual disaster. With the data vaulted, the client had the opportunity to select the precise start date and time of its data recovery.

The ease and record recovery time is attributable to Net2Vault’s use of NetApp SnapVault and SnapMirror technology, which allows clients to maintain the same tools in recovery as are used in the production environment.
