TrustPoint International - Safe Harbor Certified

Jan. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA – TrustPoint International, a nationwide leading provider of E-Discovery Solutions to legal and corporate communities, announced its certification with the Safe Harbor Program of the US Department of Commerce.  This certification is valid for one year and renewed annually.

In 1995, the European Union passed privacy legislation called the Data Protection Directive which places comprehensive requirements on businesses that collect, process and transfer personal data from the European Union to the United States.  In consultation with the European Commission, the U.S. Department of Commerce developed a "safe harbor" framework which was approved by the EU in 2000. This Safe Harbor certification assures European organizations that the certificate holder provides an adequate level of protection required by this agreement.
