TrustPoint International - Safe Harbor CertifiedGlobal e-discovery provider becomes certified compliant to Safe Harbor by the U.S. Department of Commerce
In 1995, the European Union passed privacy legislation called the Data Protection Directive which places comprehensive requirements on businesses that collect, process and transfer personal data from the European Union to the United States. In consultation with the European Commission, the U.S. Department of Commerce developed a "safe harbor" framework which was approved by the EU in 2000. This Safe Harbor certification assures European organizations that the certificate holder provides an adequate level of protection required by this agreement. “By ensuring that TrustPoint International meets European Data Privacy standards, the Safe Harbor Certification will enable TrustPoint to collect and process data in the European Union as part of our E-Discovery service offerings,” said Todd Tabor, Vice President of Operations at TrustPoint. Christopher Jensen, Partner at TrustPoint, stated, “Due to the increase in litigation with overseas components, we felt it a necessity that TrustPoint retain this certification for our current and expanding international client base.” About TrustPoint International: Media Contact: Alexis Grumbine 404-221-9990 info@trustpointintl.com # # # TrustPoint International delivers integrated, end-to-end ediscovery and litigation support solutions to law firms, corporate legal departments and governments agencies.
