This Circa 1890 sterling water pitcher is very unusual and of exceptionally fine quality. The pitcher and the handle are extremely decorative. The upper half of the body of the pitcher is completely decorated with embossed flowers and leaves. The bottom of the body has a beautifully acanthus leaf design covering 3" of the entire base. The twig handle portrays an applied leaf and berry design along with figural tree trunks. The pitcher stands 8" tall and has a circumference at its widest point of 5 1/2". It has a substantial weight of 22 troy ounces. This is a beautiful example of very high quality repousse. It was made in Philadelphia and is fully hallmarked J.E. Caldwell & Co. Sterling. It is in excellent and the finest quality condition.
The price is only $2,850 reduced from the original $3,800.
