Brad Kessler was born and raised in Southern California and moved with his family to Claremont in 1956. Upon high school graduation, the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Team drafted him in the first round. There, he played four seasons as an outfielder in both A and AA levels. He left the team at age 20 to join his father in the insurance business and to marry his wife Lori. In 1989, Kessler took the position of principal owner of the family owned and operated Kessler Insurance in Upland after his father retired, and has since continued to enjoy serving the Inland Empire.
