DeAngelis Studio is Proud to Launch "Helping Local Kids Play Music" !

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 16, 2012 - DeAngelis Studio of Music, Haverhill: How do we solve the problem of the decline of Music Programs in the school systems?  DeAngelis Studio of Music, who is very involved in their local community, has come up with a great way to help local kids and give their own long-time students a great opportunity, all at the same time.

DeAngelis Studio's "Helping Local Kids Play Music", will involve current students, who have been in our lesson programs for at least two years, as "Mentor/Teachers".  These student mentors have excelled in their own music programs and with their current teachers as consultants, will give introductory lessons to those who qualify to join the program.

"Helping Local Kids Play Music" program is geared towards kids whose families have run into some hard times and cannot afford to pay full-price for private lessons.  The program is open to students aged 7-16.  Once accepted into a program, the student will be matched-up with one of our student "Mentor/Teachers" according to the instrument they would like to pursue.  Instruments will include guitar, bass, drums, piano or singing.  Lessons will take place after school or evenings at DeAngelis Studio's professional 7200 sq ft music facility.

The students in the program will receive one month of free lessons with the "Mentor/Teachers" and then will be given the opportunity to join a "Group Class", which will be made vary affordable.  If times get better for these students they can always op to go back to regular private lessons with our teachers.

"Kids working with Kids" - it is a really fun way to get children started in music.  Learning music has been shown time and time again to be a great benefit to kids, both in better grades at school, and also more confidence and happiness in their social lives.

And there is a benefit for the "Mentor/Teachers" too-  they will be given special recognition awards, great for their resumes, as well as a special discount on their own lessons.

A "Win - Win" situation for everyone involved!

In addition to our "Helping Local Kids Play Music" Mentor Program, DeAngelis Studio is also starting a Scholarship Program, that will offer some kids, due to special needs such as Autism, the opportunity to work directly with one of our teachers.  The Scholarship will cover 75% of tuition for a 6 month program.
