Winter Cooking Weekend Packages with Executive Chef Chris Hettinger

Tarrytown, NY (January 16, 2012) Attention all cooking aficionados!  The Tarrytown House Estate’s Executive Chef Chris Hettinger is inviting foodies to join him for a special Winter Cooking Weekend Package that will be available on February 25 and March 24. You will not only learn cooking techniques from a great chef and taste each of his delicious dishes but also enjoy so much more during your value-packed two-day stay for just $499 based on double occupancy.

The Estate’s Winter Cooking Weekend Package begins with an early check-in by 11 AM on Saturday, giving you enough time to get settled into comfortable deluxe accommodations before meeting Chef Hettinger who will give you and other guests an overview of the day’s activities. You will also have an opportunity to become acquainted with the other participants and possibly start new friendships as a result of sharing the same passion for cooking.

In the afternoon, join Chef Hettinger, a graduated of the Culinary Institute of America for a three-hour session in which you will see first-hand how he works his culinary magic. His cooking style is described as American regional with international nuances. Chef Hettinger relies on Hudson Valley and mid-Atlantic meats, fish and produce for his culinary creations. His menus feature many items from local, sustainable, and organic sources including seafood items that are considered “Best Choice” by the Monterrey Bay Seafood Watch.

The interaction with the very articulate and engaging Chef Hettinger, who began his career as a cook at the Estate 15 years ago, will prove to be very illuminating and instructive, arming you with enhanced cooking knowledge. As Executive Chef, Hettinger is responsible for overseeing the Estate’s entire culinary team, menu creation for everything from conferences to weddings, as well as Cellar 49 and the Cabana Grille, also located on the property.

Also included in the Package is a cocktail reception and dinner prepared by Chef Hettinger which will be served in Cellar 49. It also includes a delicious breakfast for two in the winter Palace and a late check out of 1 PM.
