British Minigolf season tees-off with the Star City Open 2012 at Adventure Island Mini Golf

First event of the 2012 BMGA Tour Season to tee-off at Indoor Adventure Golf course in Birmingham

Jan. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- The 2012 British Minigolf Association season begins on Sunday 22nd January when the Adventure Island Minigolf course at Star City, Birmingham hosts the BMGA Star City Open.

Over 30 British Minigolf Association (BMGA) Tour players, along with a number of local competitors, are expected to be in action over three rounds (54-holes) on the challenging Lost Hut Trail 18-hole indoor Adventure Minigolf course. The tournament will tee-off at 9am and the entry fee is £20.

The 2012 Star City Open competition will be the fourth national ranking minigolf tournament the Adventure Island Minigolf course will have hosted.

Last year Oxford’s Michael Smith won the BMGA Star City Open, with Canterbury’s Marc Chapman Runner-up and Germany’s Martin Stöckle in third place. In January 2009 the course hosted the first BMGA Star City Open, which was won by Birmingham’s Chris Harding, followed by the 2010 BMGA National Open, also won by Harding.

The BMGA Tour consists of Minigolf ranking events that take place at Minigolf, Crazy Golf and Adventure Golf courses across the UK. In 2011 there were 22 Ranking BMGA Tour competitions and a total of 12 players lifted BMGA Tour titles in Open, Invitational, Club and Doubles events.
