Jotun to throw the spotlight on ‘GreenSteps’ initiative at WFES 2012

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 15, 2012 - Jotun Paints, one of the world’s leading producers and distributors of paints and powder coatings, will be throwing the spotlight on its ‘GreenSteps’ global initiative during their participation at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), which will be held from January 16 to January 19, 2012 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The leading company is looking to leverage its diverse range of environmentally sustainable paints like ‘Jotashield Extreme’ and ‘Cool Shades’ collection, following a recent report released by the International Chamber of Commerce-UAE (ICC-UAE), which points out that the UAE ‘green’ market will be worth over USD 2.74 trillion by the year 2020. The Jotun stand will be located at Hall No. 8, Stand No. 8110 at the Norway Pavilion of WFES.

Jotun’s Abu Dhabi production facility produces more than 23 million litres of paints annually, and has managed to strengthen its sustainability efforts with the roll-out of its ‘GreenSteps’ initiative, a five-point goal program that leaves consumers with the security and confidence that Jotun products are better formulated and conformed to world class green building standards. The five ‘GreenSteps’ include the move to reduce energy consumption; reduce carbon footprint; reduce waste; reduce the use of solvent or Volatile Organic Content (VOC) and reduce the use of hazardous materials.

Jotun is also actively involved in other green projects that highlight energy efficiency and comply with set eco-friendly standards. These projects include Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, and Courtyard building.
