Unique Violin Ensemble Present "Ave Vienna" in 2012 Opener

The Hutchins Consort Shares the Stage with Soprano Lauren Smith for Evening of Romantic Classical Music.

Jan. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Based around the craftsmanship and musical philosophy of famed luthier Dr. Carleen Hutchins, the Hutchins Consort utilizes eight scaled violins -- built by Hutchins -- that range from the tiny treble violin (an octave above the standard violin) to the gigantic large bass violin, which is tuned an octave lover than a cello. That acoustically balanced configuration allows this singular group to produce a true violin sound across the whole range of written music.

For this concert, Ave Vienna, the Hutchins Consort will celebrate "the City of Music" with instrumental favorites by Mozart and Beethoven, punctuated by a special guest appearance from soprano Lauren Smith, who will sing arias by Mozart and his circle. A world premiere of a new violin octet arrangement of Schoenberg's romantic masterpiece "Verklarte Nacht" rounds out the program.

This unique performance will be on Sunday, January 22 at 3:00 PM at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 2200 San Joaquin Hill Rd, Newport Beach, CA.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for seniors and student and can be purchased at the door or online at www.hutchinsconsort.org. A select number of low price tickets may be purchased at www.Goldstar.com (subscription to Goldstar is required).
