Follow on Google News | Four Specialty Grief Support Groups Now Forming: Hosted by The Center for Grief Care and EducationFour speciality Grief Support groups now forming at San Diego Hospice and the Institute for Palliative Medicine.
“By offering specialty grief groups that focus on specific types of losses, we are able to target the needs of community members and provide more personalized support,” said Noreen Carrington, LMFT, FT, Executive Director of The Center for Grief Care and Education. The four specialty groups that are now forming include: • Soul Survivors - a daytime bereavement support group for men and women who have lost spouses and are retired or approaching retirement. • Day by Day – an adult group for men and women who have experienced the loss of their spouses in mid-life. • Legacies – an adult group for those impacted by the death of parents. • Passages- These groups are open to families of SDHIPM hospice patients as well as to community members who are grieving a death that occurred without the benefit of SDHIPM’s hospice program. We are currently accepting community members to fill these groups. If you are interested, please sign-up by contacting a CGCE counselor at griefinfo@sdhospice.org or call 619-278-6480. From there, the counselor will schedule a pre-session meeting to discuss additional details and cost. For more information visit: www.sandiegohospice.org/ End
