The Association For Behavior Analysis International Comes To Philadelphia

ABAI Will Host Its Sixth Annual Autism Conference, Science-Based Social and Communication Strategies in Autism, in Philadelphia at the end of January

Jan. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Philadelphia, PA—The Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) will host its Sixth Annual Autism Conference January 27–29, 2012, at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. The conference is expected to attract attendees from around the world, including scientists, applied researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, teachers, parents, and consultants.

Registration will be open to association members and nonmembers on site starting at 9 am, January 27, 2012. Credentialed members of the news media may attend free of charge with advance approval.

This conference will feature research and best practices of relevance to the treatment of children and adults on the autism spectrum. In addition to invited presentations by distinguished scholars, attendees will have the opportunity to review current research at two poster sessions. Conference attendees will also be able to browse a bookstore and exhibit booths.

Robert Koegel and Lynn Kern Koegel will present a workshop on pivotal response treatment for Asperger’s disorder and high functioning autism, and Andy Bondy will offer a workshop on his Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and related augmentative and alternative communication approaches. Other invited speakers include Erik Carter, Howard Goldstein, Sandra Harris, Christopher Hatton, Robert Horner, Debra Kamps, Andy Lattal, Phillip Strain, and Frank Symons. Themes this year are communication and integrated services.
