Jan. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- “What happens when ancient demonic curses and modern technology collide?

Very bad things, that's what!”

That’s a part of the cover blurb for the brand new occult themed horror novel from indie author TL Erickson, which has just been released on Amazon’s Kindle platform, and is selling for $0.99.

The book is a modern take on old occult ideas, combining technology and demonic curses in one creepy package, and in our modern age of instant communications, it raises the very scary question of what could happen if ancient curses did use social networks, email and other methods to find and target their victims.

‘I wanted the book to be a classic horror, without to much gore to distract from the mental terror.’ Says author TL Erickson. ‘I suppose I wrote a book that scares me, and I hope it will scare anyone who reads it too. That’s the point of a good horror novel, isn’t it?’

Erickson has been a writer for some time, although ‘despair’ is her debut novel. She’s a successful commercial freelance writer, and has published a non fiction book with a major publishing house.

‘I’ve been working on despair for many years,’ adds Erickson. ‘It’s been my passion project, and I suppose I could have tried the conventional publishing route, but I wanted to get it out there into the world. Plus, this way I can sell it for 99c!’

The book is a modern take on the classic horror, and in the author’s own words ‘it’s about the things I imagine in my closet, that still scare me.’

TL Erickson is available for comment or interviews via her website, and can be found on Twitter, using the handle @EricksonTL. Review copies of the book will be made available to sites dealing with horror fiction and similar themes on request.
