Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, The Manhattan Syndrome is proving that they are a force to be reckoned with in the Indie music scene. Mixing the sonic scope of Sigur Ros, the drive of Arcade Fire and the mood of the National with their own pop sensibilities, they have forged a dynamic style of their own; a combination of simple hook driven songwriting with post-rock, momentous accompaniment.
In 2011, The Manhattan Syndrome released their debut EP ‘And We Left It Behind’ and they are fast garnering the attention of music fans and industry figureheads alike. The EP was engineered and mixed by Alan Kelly at Windmill Lane Studios and draws influences as far ranging as Sigur Ros and Leonard Cohen whilst still maintaining a polished and accessible sound with the accompaniment of stunning vocals from Evan Heneghan.
‘The Manhattan Syndrome’ is:
· Anna Murray – Bass, Keys, Computer.
· Evan Heneghan – Acoustic Guitar, Vocals.
· Jamie McHugh – Bass, Keys.
· Pearse Healy – Electric Guitar, Bass.
· Sean Hughs – Percussion.
