By: deborah plunkett Concord Art Association presents: Woven Stories WHEN: Thursday, January 19 7:00pm WHERE: Concord Art Association 37 Lexington Road Concord, MA 01742 To reserve your space or for more information: email: gallery@concordart.org phone: 978-369-2578 WOVEN STORIES Hannah Perrine Mode Join curator, Hannah Perrine Mode, as she discusses the exhibition PALLAY/PATTERN: During the summer of 2011, Mode spent two months volunteering with Awamaki: a non-profit organization that collaborates with the town of Ollantaytambo and surrounding communities to foster enduring economic opportunities and improve social conditions. She worked closely with the Awamaki Weaving Project, helping impoverished Quechua women to revitalize an endangered weaving tradition while affording financial independence through access to market. Hannah Perrine Mode graduated from Skidmore College with degrees in Studio Art and Art History, is a former Concord Art intern, and currently lives in Sudbury, MA. Passionate about the relationship of art in a community on a local, national, and international scale, Mode has lived in Prague, Florence, and Ollantaytambo, Peru. It maintains a small collection of 20th century art including that of its founder, Impressionist painter, Elizabeth Wentworth Roberts. End
