Recently, a new company named Anvisoft joined computer security world. On Dec. 22 2011, it released first beta program called Anvi Smart Defender. And it acquired users’ praises for the fast-scanning speed and great GUI, also some users criticized on them mainly because of its engine. Someone said Anvi Smart Defender’s engine quite looks like IObit’s, and they said it may be rebranded by IObit. The one who knew about IObit may also heard about what happened between Malwarebytes and IObit. If not, you could find more information here:
Although being suspected and blamed by users, Anvisoft didn’t explain those disputes officially. Only little information can be found from their forums:

Michelle, the spokesman of Anvisoft simply claimed the engine was built by them.
Another point that users concerned about are will it stay free after beta. Nobody would work for free, so what’s the price policy of Anvi Smart Defender? Full paid version after users dedicated testing? If that, it’s not worth for testing. Keep free version but limit some features? This would be accepted and worth a trial. From their official’s words, Alisa said, “ASD will be free, and we will develop more software, select some paid version, and keep some free. Maybe we will keep the price policy like Antivir. On the other hand, we will add new features in ASD, maybe keep the multi-features be the paid version, but all the functions in this beta version will still be free.” Whether this will be true or not, let’s keep an eye on how it’s going. If cheated, quit and give up by your decision.
Not many people know about a new company’s new product. Anvisoft also launched beta testing activity. The first round lucky has come to an end, and the second round is still continuing. From their News Press, you could get more information:

It seems that their first beta didn’t get enough popularity, because nobody wan the iPhone 4S in the first round lucky draw. Hope the activity could really bring you a iPhone 4S, you could have a try, here is the entry: http://forums.anvisoft.com/
Computer security world is a continuous topic. There are some famous and big companies in the market. Some of them do did a great job. And this is not a good situation for a newly born security group. "Some former companies created a sea in security field and appealed to users," says Andy, the CEO of Anvisoft. "We wanted to respond with something that would be innovative and competitive, but not the same as traditions."
"Entering the security field so late with the experience has created some special challenges for us," says Kevin, the chief engineer of Anvisoft. 'I think we still have the competence and capability to be different."
