Gridstore Names Former Drobo CEO and BlueArc Founder Geoff Barrall as Executive Chairman

Barrall will play an integral role as Gridstore continues to set the standard for a new generation of scale-out NAS.

The appointment of Barrall is a strong validation of Gridstore’s innovation and ability to execute and deliver the industry’s next generation of scale-out NAS. During his time at Overland the company grew its market share and continued to lead the market with technology innovations for more scalable and reliable storage solutions.

Prior to his position with Overland Storage, Barrall was the founder and CEO at Drobo (formerly Data Robotics), an innovate storage platform designed for the SOHO market where he rapidly grew sales from zero to a $40 million annual run rate within just ten quarters of initial product launch. Prior to Data Robotics, he was founder and CTO of BlueArc, an enterprise storage company acquired by Hitachi Data Systems.
