PRLog - Jan. 11, 2012 - FORT WASHINGTON, Md. -- Make no mistake about it, there have been quite a few people who have made contributions to the American culture and society, however few have left a legacy like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Few if any contributions is as important as improving the social fabric of a country, it's in a league by itself.
Paul Lawrence Vann has studied the life and legacy of Dr. King and over the years he has delivered high impact speeches, presentations, interviews, panel discussions and talks on The Dreamer. Vann lived in Atlanta, Georgia for a year while on assigment as a participant in the Education With Industry program sponsored by the United States Air Force and he began studying the life of Dr. King in 1984.
Whenever Vann's siblings and friends came to Atlanta, the first place he would take them was to The King Center. In fact, he was at The King Center so often, people thought he worked there.
"I have delivered Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. programs in support of the King holiday, Black History Month and other venues for the past several years and I'm passionate about sharing all that I know about Dr. King to audiences wherever they are," states Vann.
One of the most important aspects about Dr. King that inspires people to live a life with dignity is his approach to compassion. When a human being is sympathetic towards another individual and is willing to help them manage their stress, it simply doesn't get any better than that and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is the embodiment of the word compassion.
"Whether I speak at a church such as Ebenezer AME, Internal Revenue Service, Federal Reserve Board or the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, I always come away filling the audience would have stayed in the sanctuary or auditorium all day to learn everything they could about Dr. King," his life has this kind of impact on people Vann states.
With the dawn of 2012, we all come together to celebrate the life and legacy of The Dreamer. Now that there is a national monument dedicated to Dr. King, people have a place to go in unison to witness, reflect and be inspired by the life of a man who wanted to live a life with freedom, libery, dignity and civility as a good citizen according to the Constitution of the United States of America.
Paul is scheduled to speak at various locations throughout the metropolitan Washington, DC area from Dr. King holiday venues through Black History Month. Vann states, "January through February is my busy season for speaking, panel discussions, radio and television interviews."
Paul Lawrence Vann served over 20 years of honorable military duty in the United States Air Force in numerous leadership positions. He served over 12 consecutive years in the Pentagon, including the position of a Capitol Hill Fellow.
