Originally recognized for its Absolut Vodka lithographs of contemporary legends and still host to Absolut, Stolichnaya, Bombay Sapphire and Grand Marnier hand-signed lithographs, Absolute Americana is home to Michel Roux’ personal collection as well as an eclectic array of art from Haitian, French, Russian and local artists.
“Since working with Romero on the Absolut Vodka campaign almost 15 years ago, I have been a great fan of his warm and vibrant art, so we are absolutely delighted to showcase his work in our space,” Roux said.
The collection includes hand-signed prints, limited edition sculptures and limited edition enhanced giclees.
Recently, Britto was invited by Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff to create art for the “Stork Network,” a campaign for mothers and babies designed to reach more than 60 million people across Brazil. He has also lectured and displayed artwork at Harvard University, unveiled a monumental sculpture in front of Berlin’s O2 dome, which was donated by Eunice Kennedy, and created GOLi, a sculpture made of almost 300,000 glass mosaic tiles, for the Hall de Fama de Futbol in Italy. Britto’s art is also featured in three Simon and Schuster children’s books.
