Supplies Donation Drive Underway at Pete and Mac's Supporting Sun Valley Animal Shelter

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 10, 2012 - Pete and Mac's Pet Resort in Avondale is hosting a supplies donation drive for Sun Valley Animal Shelter beginning immediately and running through Super Bowl Sunday, Feb 5th, 2012. Drop off donations at Pete and Mac's Pet Resort in Avondale – 13034 W Rancho Santa Fe Blvd. Then join us on Friday, February 10th from 4pm – 7pm for a drive ending celebration – a “tail gate” Yappy Hour party at Pete and Mac’s. Enjoy season worthy drinks and snacks, raffle prizes and meet some ready to adopt pets.

Since 1995 Sun Valley Animal Shelter has provided loving, compassionate care to unwanted dogs and cats of the Northwest Valley. They strive to give comfortable, temporary housing, medical care and vaccinations, good food and companionship to the scores of homeless companion animals that need our help finding loving, permanent families. They are committed to working with other area organizations dedicated to the rescue and care of homeless pets.  They also are devoted to achieving humane solutions to the issue of pet overpopulation, as well as to eliminating animal suffering due to abuse and neglect.

For the coming year, Sun Valley Animal Shelter hopes to continue their work on an even larger scale.  By partnering with local businesses like Pete & Mac’s, they hope to further educate the public, not only on the importance of adopting but also of spay/neuter and proper medical care of their pets.  Their goal for 2012 adoptions is set at 1,000.  The more animals they are able to adopt out, the more lives they are able to save and that is their ultimate goal.

Sun Valley Animal Shelter has partnered with Pete and Mac's Pet Resort for donation drop off at their Avondale pet boarding, daycare, grooming and training facility. Pete and Mac's (www.petemac.com) is located at 13034 W Rancho Santa Fe Blvd. In keeping with the football theme, Pete and Mac's is offering 50% OFF daycare during their Daycare Kick Off Party on Super Bowl Sunday or boarding on Super Bowl Sunday for any pet that makes a donation during the four week FILL THE BOWL Supplies Drive, as well as weekly prize drawings. The number of dogs and cats in rescues is at an all time high, as the struggling economy has forced many families to surrender a pet they can no longer care for. Some families in desperate situations have even resorted to leaving their pets behind in foreclosed homes. Your supplies donations are helpful for continued care and rescue of these pets. Sun Valley Animal Shelter is actively involved in rescuing abandoned or homeless animals from the streets, rehabilitating them, and finding them loving forever homes. By donating supplies to Sun Valley Animal Shelter during the FILL THE BOWL SUPPLIES DRIVE, as well as throughout the year, you can help ensure that displaced pets are kept safe and healthy until they find their new forever homes.
