Dr. Knoernschild also is Program Director of the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics and Co-Director of the Comprehensive Dental Implant Center at UIC, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics.
The ACP presents a single Educator of the Year Award annually for outstanding contributions to the welfare and advancement of the ACP and the specialty of prosthodontics, overall achievement in academic dentistry, and contributions to the sciences and health professions.
“I have had leadership responsibility within the prosthodontic community for over ten years at the advanced specialty education level, related to curriculum development, evidence-based decision making, and accreditation,”
“These experiences have grown into two additional recent responsibilities that include election as the new Director for the American Board of Prosthodontics--
“It’s my hope that this recognition will help everyone beyond the College walls realize how much we really care about our students at the advanced and predoctoral levels,” Dr. Knoernschild said. “Although I’m the award recipient, this is recognition of meaningful and productive interdisciplinary relationships that support excellence from many perspectives at the College of Dentistry.”
Dr. Stephen Campbell, Department Head, Restorative Dentistry, is a previous recipient of the award.
