Mental Health Professionals Increase Expertise Through Webinars

Jan. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- A typical therapist, counselor or social worker sees approximately 20 clients per week for one-hour sessions.  Then they’re required to complete patient reports, file insurance papers and other administrative tasks.  When is there time for training and fulfilling continuing education units?

A presentation outlining the nine current theories explaining why domestic violence happens.  Until one mega-theory develops, it will be necessary to have all nine theories at one's fingertips in order to clarify the reasons for any one person's experience in domestic violence/ intimate partner abuse.  At the conclusion of the webinar, the attendee will be able to use the knowledge gained about these theories to better understand, assess, diagnose & intervene with both victims & offenders.  Attendees will be able to recognize abuse when they encounter it & will have basic knowledge to further their own reading in the field.  CEUs, upon successful completion of the test, are 1.0 CEU hours.
