Shoaib Ahmed started in project management from a software development background, having seen various approaches tried with a mixed success rate. His first approach was to avoid making the same mistakes he had seen others make. Very soon he realized the need to further his knowledge in this field to ensure continued success. His vision for this blog is to become a resource that is easily consumed by professionals starting out in this discipline.
A vibrant community participation is required to ensure this vision becomes a success. To achieve that goal, the blog is now adding new topics suitable for intermediate and senior project managers. There is a significant emphasis on the various methodologies used around the world, their relative merits, and applicability in various project scenarios.
Topics for the blog are taken from the various challenges facing the editor, Shoaib Ahmed, experiences gathered from networking with other project management professionals, discussion topics from industry journals and other electronic or paper published material and reader feedback. In this blog Shoaib reflects on his experience in successfully delivering internationally acclaimed projects in a wide range of industry sectors including central and local government, transportation, port operations, security, climate change and strategic consulting.
The first building blocks for the blog started in March, 2011.
