Jan. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- One has to but turn on the television, radio, tablet, smartphone and or read the newspaper and they will see a chorus of passion from people impacted by the economic downturn occuring in America and the rest of the world. During the Dr. King holiday, people ask, "If Dr. King were alive today, what would he do about the social conditions of today?"

Dr. King expert speaker and radio personality, Paul Lawrence Vann has studied the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and he provides insight like no one else can. Vann states, "Dr. King would be appalled at the current economic conditions Americans are facing today."

The fact of the matter is, the events and circumstances Americans find themselves in today is errily similar to what was taking place in the early to mid 1960's. In fact, Dr. King was fighting for parity and equaility for all employees, advocated for government to assist in changing laws to help provide a more level playing field when it comes to job opportunities, equality, civil rights and lodging in hotels and in restaurants throughout America.

Some people who have not studied the whole life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., fail to understand he represented all Americans, not just black people, rather people from all ethnic backgrounds. This is important to understand because Dr. King fought for humanity which is a worthy cause.

If Dr. King was alive today, he would likely support the Occupy Wall Street protest taking place throughout America. Peaceful protest was what Dr. King was all about and justifiably so, people should have a right to protest injustice, inequality, brutality and victimization by an oppressive system.

Vann states, "If Dr. King were alive today, he would want all people to come together as one, because that is what it is going to take to turn America's economy around, create jobs, strengthen communities, thus strengthing our country and help oppressed people in other countries."

It goes without saying, if Dr. King were alive today, he would be happy to see President Obama as President of the United States of America. His influence would create and generate a lot of good will between the White House and the American people, while addressing our greatest needs, helping people.

"Happy Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we are honored to stand on your shoulders, you did a lot for the American people and our country," states Vann. Where would America be today without the courage and commitment of Dr. King and others who led the Civil Rights Movement?

We shutter to think what conditions we would be in today without Dr. King's contributions to America. If he were alive today, Dr. King would tell us, "Keep fighting for justice and equality in America, it impacts our job, families and communities, its the right thing to do."
