Chinese Acrobats 2 (640x468)
PRLog (Press Release) -
Jan. 18, 2012 - There were "oooh"'s and "aaah"'s a-plenty from all the students and faculty who were fortunate enough to see and enjoy a recent assembly featuring a troupe of Chinese acrobats. They invited students onto the stage to participate in some of the simpler parts of their presentation, but both the the simple and more intricate presentations were all astounding. The acrobats needed the full height of the stage to perform with flames, with ropes, on unicycles, and with each other on their shoulders. No matter what their prop was, the audience was amazed that each section seemed to get better and more awe-inspiring than the last. Students are hoping these acrobats will return to school frequently as it was "the best we've ever seen," to quote a five-year old audience member.
This assembly is part of the school's on-going outreach program where visiting artists are invited in to share their artistry. Earlier this year a ventriloquist visited and shared his 'tricks' with the students, and next month the Pushcart Players will visit to perform "Happily Ever After," a take-off of the Cinderella story, performed with songs and zany characters while delivering their subtle message of trust, friendship, and loyalty.
