About the Author: Born in England, Lawrence J. Marr worked as a bank clerk and served two years in the Royal Air Force in Germany. He then became a police constable. In 1966, he immigrated to Australia with his wife, Valerie, and their three daughters, and worked mainly as an accountant. He retired in 2004 and previously wrote three other novels, Searching for Daphne Cooper, Tears of the Young and On a Roundabout to Murder.
