“I love writing love stories specifically for teenagers because of my own teenage love story,” says Emi.
She met the man of her dreams at 14, was engaged to him at 19, married him at 20 and she’s still in love with him to this day. She’ll never forget what it was like to fall in love at such a young age — emotions she wants everyone to feel.
“We’re very excited to add another YA novel to our catalog,” says J. Taylor Publishing. “This trilogy includes the novels After Dark, Day After and Darkest Day which forces an eighteen year old to make the choice of a lifetime. What supernatural race will she choose for the rest of her life with no chance to change? We expect adults and teens to enjoy this story.”
Says Emi, “Most eighteen year olds don’t know what they want to be when they grow up. I thought I did, but I was wrong. We get the chance to alter our futures, but in Mac’s case, she only gets one choice. And it lasts forever. Yet another reason why I’m happy to be human.”
Emi lives vicariously through her youthful characters, while simultaneously acting as chief-Mom to her teenaged son and searching for a way to keep her two daughters from ever reaching the dreaded teen years. Ironically, those years were some of Emi’s favorite times and inspire the words to her YA novels.
“Along with Julie Reece, Emi Gayle’s debut rounds out our 2012 YA releases,” says J. Taylor Publishing.
