Dorothy Wallace is a contemporary mosaic artist and photographer who has been active in the Sanibel art community for more than 20 years. Her concrete and glass work, Invasive Species, was recently selected for next month’s Society of American Mosaic Artists’ annual Mosaic Arts International Juried Exhibition at the Lexington Center Museum and Gallery in Lexington, Kentucky. “When asked to name our show, we knew immediately that “color” needed to be in the title,” said Brodersen and Wallace, speaking recently about the exhibit. “Color is a primary ingredient in our compositions, whether they are two-dimensional or three-dimensional. Both of us are guided by how the colors of our compositions interact with and play off each other, and this is ultimately defined by how a viewer sees and reacts to it.”
Founders Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
