Jan. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- The acquisition closed late November, 2011.  Integration into the FPS system has now been completed. In conjunction with the acquisition of the assets, FPS is welcoming the industry’s most experienced wind turbine inspectors, and the Spin Trends management team to the FPS family.  Spin Trends will operate as a division of FPS under the continued guidance of its founder Darrin McCulloch. Paul Baker, FPS Director Business Development offers: “I have worked closely with Darrin McCulloch for the past 8 years. I was first impressed by the results he consistently produced, my respect grew as I understood his commitment to his customers. He has worked very hard, and with amazing focus, to build an incredible team. I think we’re all excited.”
Spin Trends is a Touchet, WA based business, which conducts complete wind turbine EOW (End of Warranty) inspections across the United States, Canada and Mexico, specializing in borescope and condition monitoring (vibration) of wind turbines. Spin Trends has completed more than 6,000 inspections, on 28 turbine types, across North America since 2003.
Spin Trends’ expertise provides tremendous synergies with FPS’s wind turbine service business.  FPS’s wind turbine service expertise includes a range of technology and specialty services in the areas of large composite blade repair and balancing, dynamic rotor balancing, contract O&M, as well as condition monitoring through its fully owned subsidiary, Monitek, Inc.
Roger Brandt, Frontier Pro Services’ General Manager says that “Spin Trends further adds to our strategy of offering technology based value added services to the wind industry in addition to skilled labor. Having an accurate picture of the assets’ condition is vital to the success of our customers’ projects. The accuracy and comprehensive nature of the results compliments the nature of our other offerings. Monitek’s proprietary condition monitoring hardware, software, and analysts will benefit from the knowledge base. FPS’ Dynamic Rotor Balance (patent pending) and Blade Inspection complete the comprehensive offering.”
