Jan. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- The Dylan Thomas Centre has a reputation for bringing big names from the world of literature to Swansea as part of its events programme.

That reputation has been underlined as two individuals who featured in recent events are being considered for one of the UK’s prestigious literature prizes, the 2011 Costa book award, which has a £30,000 prize.

Matthew Hollis and Carol Ann Duffy won the biography award and the poetry category respectively, which now sees them go against four other writers for the main award.

Jo Furber, Literature Officer at the Dylan Thomas Centre said “I’m delighted that two people who featured in our events last year are being considered for this prestigious national prize.

“It certainly acts as a testimonial of the quality writers and poets we attract to participate in our regular events programme”.

Meanwhile, the Dylan Thomas Centre’s new programme of events has been released, and features a varied mixture of literature, drama and music.
