Keeping Us Safe and Lifelines Academy & Network Announce Strategic Partnership

Their unified goal is to contribute to the safety and independence of seniors who should no longer be driving by educating eldercare professionals to effectively address this pervasive and growing challenge.

PRLog - Jan. 5, 2012 - CLEVELAND -- Keeping Us Safe is proud to announce the formation of a collaborative educational partnership with Lifelines Academy & Network.  Their unified goal is to contribute to the safety and independence of seniors who should no longer be driving by educating eldercare professionals to effectively address this pervasive and growing challenge.

Most people will outlive their driving capability.  Men by an average of six years and women by an average of 10 years, as reported by the US Department of Health and Human Services.  In fact, according to the US Census Bureau, roughly 19% of Americans, or 13.9 million people, will need alternatives to driving in order to continue living independently in 2030.

Eldercare professionals who are skilled and credentialed to provide dignified solutions to the problem of outliving driving capability are in demand.

The mission of Keeping Us Safe, a national organization based in Cleveland, Ohio, is to provide older drivers and their families with tools necessary to confront the challenging issue of diminishing driving skills in the older driver.

Lifelines Academy & Network, headquartered in Tampa, Florida, is an online community for educating, connecting and promoting professionals serving seniors nationwide, currently offering over 500 online courses.

Matt Gurwell, Founder & CEO of Keeping Us Safe and a Founding 500 member of the selective, members-only Lifelines Network, explains how the partnership will prove itself invaluable in serving as a recruiting medium for Keeping Us Safe’s “Beyond Driving with Dignity” Professional Certification program.   “Our certification classes are being held across the country” Gurwell said, adding that “The mission of  Lifelines Academy & Network is to prepare businesses, professionals and families to meet the challenges associated with the aging of America, making their innovative company an excellent partner with Keeping Us Safe.  We are very excited about Lifelines Academy’s ability to find interested and qualified individuals to attend the Beyond Driving with Dignity Professional Certification course.”

An added benefit of this purposeful partnership is that professionals who enroll in the “Beyond Driving with Dignity” certification program through Lifelines Academy & Network immediately become eligible for a discounted enrollment fee into Lifelines Network (admission subject to membership standards).
