Jan. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Las Vegas, NV – At today’s opening of the 2012 International  Consumer Electronics Show, Phoenix Gold® (www.phoenixgold.com) took center stage with the introduction of the new Elite-Series: a line of high-end car audio amplifiers, subwoofers and speakers with features and performance specs for even the most demanding installations. Because seeing is believing, but hearing is proof, Phoenix Gold will showcase select Elite Series amplifiers, subwoofers and components at its CES booth (North Hall, #909) in a sleek 2006 Porsche Cayenne custom built by Underground Autostyling of Sarasota, Florida.

Initially, Phoenix Gold is rolling out three Elite-Series amplifiers – the Elite.1, Elite.2 and Elite.4. These are some of the most powerful amplifiers Phoenix Gold has ever built, and each amplifier comes with a birth certificate guaranteeing the amplifier is underrated by 5 to 20%. These amplifiers feature Burr Brown op-amps – typically used only in high-end home systems – for ultra-low distortion/noise and high-speed/bandwidth for maximum musical resolution. Each amplifier comes shipped in a black protective bag and has clip indicators on the amplifier/remote bass knob, an included remote bass knob, dented crossover controls and much more. Amplifier specs are as follows:

Elite.1 Class-D Monoblock Amplifier
Dimensions:   23.3” L x 10.5” W x 2.6” H

450 Watts x 2 Channel / 1 Ohm*
375 Watts x 2 Channel / 2 Ohms
*Reactive Load Measurement
Low Pass Range:  40Hz to 4kHz
Low Pass Slope:  18dB/Octave
High Pass Filter Range:  20Hz to 4kHz
High Pass Filter Slope:  18dB/Octave
Power Terminal: 1/0GA

Elite.4 Class-A/B Four-Channel Amplifier
Dimensions: 23.3” L x 10.5” W x 2.6” H

High Pass Filter Range:  20Hz to 4kHz
High Pass Filter Slope:  18dB/Octave
Power Terminal:  1/0GA

For CES, Phoenix Gold will be showing off a single subwoofer, the Elite.12d. The 3.0” long-throw voice coil handles 1600-watts RMS/3200-watts PEAK and is comprised of a vented titanium/aluminum hybrid former that is extremely light and strong. The dual spider system keeps the voice coil centered and provides the perfect mechanical force for the moving assembly of the cone and voice coil for smooth, effortless output even during massive excursion or extreme power. FEA optimization allows the motor force to remain consistent over a wide range of power and excursion levels, resulting in intricate bass replication and massive output. An aluminum mass heat sink wicks away heat from critical areas, while specifically placed vents allow for proper airflow throughout the voice coil’s travel path. Specs are as follow:

Elite.12d Dual 4-Ohm High Excursion Subwoofer:
Power Handling: 1600w RMS - 3200w PEAK
Impedance:  Dual 4 ohm
Frequency Response:  20 to 300Hz
Peak to Peak Excursion:  60mm
Terminal: Nickel Plated 12-Ga
Optimized for Sealed or Vented Enclosures

The final Elite-Series product being introduced is the Elite.65cs component set. The set is composed of 25mm silk dome tweeters and 24dB Glen Phillips external audiophile crossovers designed for smooth, musical output with excellent spectral clarity. The tweeter housing is machined from a single block of aluminum then anodized and threaded with an aluminum retaining nut for rock solid and easy installation, and also to act as a heat sink for the neodymium motor structure. Smooth termination dual-roll surround helps reduce unwanted resonances and acoustical artifacts while eliminating mechanical vibrations. Two-stage lightbulb tweeter protection makes its nearly impossible for a hard-clipping or broken amplifier to damage your tweeters. Specs are as follow:

Elite.65cs Component Speaker Set:
Power Handling:  150w RMS - 300w PEAK
Impedance:   4 Ohm
Frequency Response:  50Hz to 20kHz

In addition to the Ti2-Series, Phoenix Gold is also using the 2011 CES Show to debut their new R3-Series and SL-Series subwoofers, SD-Series digital amplifiers and a five-channel class A/B/D hybrid Ti-Series amplifier.  To see these products in person, visit CES booth 809 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
