Growing Mobile Traffic Causes MinnesotaTechJobs.com to Create Mobile Site ASAP

Jan. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- MinnesotaTechJobs.com is expanding its service on to mobile devices, allowing users to search jobs and look at news relevant to IT professionals in Minnesota.

After seeing their web analytics show mobile visitors accounting for 5% of the total visitor traffic (and growing), MinnesotaTechJobs.com set up a mobile version of their website, specially optimized for small screen wireless devices such s internet-enabled phones.

Eric Putkonen, President of MinnesotaTechJobs.com commented, “mobile is not the future, but the present.  We launched MinnesotaTechJobs.com in June 2011, and already 5% of our web traffic comes from various mobile devices.  We needed to create a mobile site ASAP.”

One great features of the mobile site is that job seekers can apply to jobs via their mobile device.  This does require that job seekers have a free account with MinnesotaTechJobs.com and uploaded their resumes to their accounts.  When one applies for a position on a mobile device, instead of an area for uploading a resume there is the ability to select a resume from their account.  Of course, this is only for employers who choose to receive applicants through MinnesotaTechJobs.com and have not instead redirected applicants to their own websites and application systems.

“It is still difficult to apply to jobs through mobile devices, so we wanted to make a simple mobile job-application function a core function within our mobile site,” says Eric Putkonen, President of MinnesotaTechJobs.com.
