Georgetown Hospital System’s Women’s Board to Host Annual Gala at Pawleys Plantation February 3

Jan. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Georgetown, SC – Georgetown Hospital System’s Women’s Board Annual Gala will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 in the Pawleys Plantation Ballroom. This year’s event is themed “Snow Ball 2012” and promises to be a Winter Wonderland with great food and a silent auction.  Entertainment will be provided by The Necessary Band. Proceeds from this year’s gala will secure specialty physician care for uninsured patients to help them re-enter the workforce. In 2010-11, 65 patients received specialty care assistance from GHS.  Specialty referrals include dermatology, pulmonology, pain management, rheumatology, cardiology, nephrology, wound care, urology, ENT and gastroenterology.  Patients with potentially debilitating diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn’s disease were diagnosed and treated.  Twenty-three people have now re-entered the work force with help from this fund.
