Miss Latina US to be Crowned in Mexico

Jan. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Barceló Hotels and Resorts, home to Miss Latin America® Pageants since 2000, will once again host the annual Miss Latina US Pageant and official national preliminary to select the U.S. delegate to the international Miss Latin America of the World finals. The Pageant returns to the Barceló Maya Beach Resort in Mexico’s Mayan Riviera for a third time, having also been staged there in 2003 and 2005. The Palenque Theatre will be the stage for the coronation of the new Miss Latina US 2012 by her predecessor Marice Morales from Utah on Saturday, June 2nd.

Single women of Latino or Hispanic heritage between the ages of 19 and 27 are showcased in this national competition that fosters cultural awareness and stronger ties between the U.S. and Latin America. Delegates are selected from across the USA through affiliate state pageants or at-large process to vie for recognition and a prize package valued at $10,000.00. Previous national titleholders have come from Arizona, California, Florida, Kansas, New York, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah and Washington, D.C. During the week-long pageant event from May 27th to June 2nd, state and heritage delegates will be busy with rehearsals, preliminary rounds of competition, press and photo sessions, social activities and recreation at one of the most popular all-inclusive resorts located right on the best beach in the Mexican Caribbean coast.
