Headquartered in Stratford, Connecticut, USA, Haiti Lumiere de Demain/Haiti’s Light for Tomorrow (HLD), Inc. works in partnership with Haitian public schools, the public and private sectors, and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to support primary and secondary education for underprivileged children living in rural and impoverished communities in Haiti. A not-for-profit, non-governmental organization with the goal of promoting literacy in Haiti, HLD engages in informational programs in Haiti and abroad to raise awareness of educational needs of children in Haiti. HLD also works to encourage the participation of the public and the private sectors in the program implementation, and it supports initiatives that encourage civic responsibility and communal participation through its programs.

Project Night Night donates over 25,000 Night Night Packages each year, free of charge, to homeless children who need our childhood essentials to feel secure, cozy, ready to learn, and significant.  Each Night Night Package contains a new security blanket, an age-appropriate children's book, and a stuffed animal -- all nestled inside of a new canvas tote bag.  By providing objects of reliable comfort, Project Night Night reduces trauma and advances the emotional and cognitive well-being of the children we serve.

Author Bio
Cindy J. Cadet has worked with students in diverse age groups. After obtaining her MBA, she began her journey as a substitute teacher in the classroom with kindergarten children. She then worked in higher education administration. Cindy, a wife and mother, is very passionate about family life and solutions to building a strong and loving foundation. Being a mom has inspired her to create a fun story about a girl who is smart, adventurous and loves doing new things. Cindy lives with her family in Connecticut.
